How To Wipe A Hard Drive?
I have an Intel Pentium 4 desktop pc. It’s REALLY old and it can’t boot from a disk making it really hard to use hard drive wipers such as Killdisk and Dariks Boot and Nuke. I’ve tried using the XP installation disk but that just got rid of all the documents, not the stuff from the hard drive.
To make my computer boot from a CD I think I need to change the BIOS…..
Well, since it’s such an old computer I have found that it can boot from a floppy, haha. I’m nuking it now.
Download ERD COMMANDER (google it) Boot up with that. After it opens, goto the command prompt and type: format
let it format, it will take a while.
After it’s done, put the XP cd back in and restart.
Do a fresh/new copy of XP
Whalla! Back to the freshness.
