HP G7-1075DX Notebook Features

HP has recently added in G7 collection to their pavilion lineup. HP G7-1075DX is a part of it. The 17.3 inches notebook is not designed generally for video gaming, but for executing primary tasks such as surfing around web, utilizing office application, modifying photo and also enjoying video. And of course, with the support of AMD Phenom II P650 dual core processor and ATI HD 4250 graphics you can play 3D games up to some extent but in lower details and reduced adjustments. The notebook presents 4GB RAM as well and that’s an added advantage. Let’s discover what makes it jump out from others.

HP G7-1075DX notebook is run by AMD Phenom II P650 processor which is a dual core processor with 2.6GHz frequency. There’s 2MB of L2 cache. Passmark rating for this CPU is 1711 and for P6200 is 1672 (more is better). So you can evaluate it with Intel Pentium P6200. Aside from your everyday tasks you’ll be able to edit picture, work with CS3 as well. Due to its excellent multitasking features, the processor could improve productivity in routine work.

Graphics – In terms of graphics, HP G7-1075DX model is built with  ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics that not just permits you to watch videos in hi-def setting but to perform 3D games also, considering that the graphics has support for DirectX 10.1. You can have fun with video games in small to medium details and setting. However, old game titles can be performed with excellent frame rates. You can have fun with Sims3, Starcraft 2 etc with 20-30fps in low details and low configurations. ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics is onboard graphics and depends on system memory space. In HP G7-1075DX, about 1917MB memory space is specific to graphics.

RAM – HP G7-1075DX is pre-loaded with 4GB DDR3 RAM set up in 2 slots and it’s upgradeable up to 8GB.

HDD – The laptop comes with 500GB hard disk space with 5,400 rpm speed. The laptop is operates on 64bit Windows 7 home premium operating system.

Display – The size of the screen is 17.3” when calculated diagonally with maximum video resolution of 1600×900. Hence you can’t watch films and video clips in Full HD.

HP G7-1075DX weighs only 6.1lbs and gives up to 4.15 hrs of battery life. It also features a full size keyboard with dedicated numeric keypad. If you consider the price, the HP G7-1075DX is great mix of price, design and capabilities.
