Desktop Pc Computers
I’m looking for a reliable, affordable PC desktop computer. What should I choose?
What are the best computers on the market, that are affordable on the college budget and still powerful/ have good operating systems? I just got out of an awful 2 yr relationship with my Toshiba laptop (it was him, not me), and I’m looking for something that’ll last a little longer, ie not catch fire and destroy my hard drive.
Any and all suggestions and opinions would be lovely!
Do a Google search of “budget desktop PC’s” and you’ll find dozens of sites selling cheap PC’s. I prefer to build my own because it’s fun (surprisingly easy too – just don’t buy a cheapo power supply) and I can choose exactly the components I want.
The cheapest way is to buy all the components from the same supplier (to save on carriage) and install an OEM copy of Windows (exactly the same but half the price) or use Linux (free!) but be aware that if you build it yourself and there is a fault, YOU have to identify the bad component.
A reasonable budget pre-built PC will cost upwards of $600/£300 not including the monitor.
