About Computer Hardware cleaning/what are they critics of PC hardwares?
As I am going to start my duty on monday in a local office, I would like to collect information about hardware maintenance cleaning schedule.I want to write something critical about computer hardware maintenance cleaning schedule to meet both the manufacturers and orgainzational requirements.
what should I consider as critical to hardware, though I know some, and what should be use as a cleaner?
For the most part you want to make sure you remove the dirt and dust that gets trapped in the computer. For some reason, it seems like the dust that gets in a computer is really stubborn when your are trying to get rid of it.
Yes a can of air can help, but it won’t get the job done completely. I have trying to find alternate tools to use and i have a list for you.
Toothbrush – works great on case fan, heat sinks, case fan holes
Dye Brush – you would get these from a beauty supply store and the have a long handle, usually about 1 to 2 rows of bristles and they come in different shapes and sizes.
A vacuum with the hose and brush attachment.
So far, these have help me whenever I’m cleaning a system.
Now as far as how often you clean. I would do a thorough cleaning and then check how much dust gets back in the system in a week, and the two weeks, and so on, until you come with a suitable schedule.
Why you would want to clean a system like this is for the prevention of heat damage, possible electrical shorts.
Just be gentle as possible when using the brushes and the vacuum and you will be okay.
